Suggestion: Harvest Moon Company Man at 240–260 keys

Although I've closed this, due to very odd sales going on, two going to quickbuyers/buy orders. A sale at 39, except 39 seemingly being high as there are 2 current sellers at 35.

Instead I'll be taking the sellers price of 35, as there is nothing else usable for the geezer.

Or, it's being used there, however, it is a supportive sale, not the main sale to define the high, or low end on the tc, so im able to use it here for the company man.

Phononaut is indate. Yeti punch and trilby are outdated, while yeti smash is unpriced, taking minis for them.

Sales at 240, 250, 260, and 300.

300 seems high compared to the other sales.

Taking 240-260 keys.

Not sure what makes 300 high, its the most recent sale and its not that far from other sales and nothing counters it.

When the sale is most recent, and is pure, I would likely add it to the range. But the sale is mixed.

As for nothing countering, well there are 3 sales at lower. The difference between those 3 sales are 10 keys a piece, and the difference between 260 and 300 is 40.

Despite all this, I would add 300 to the range, but in doing so, this hat would then have a raise. The average as of right now, is 250. If adding the 300 key sale, the average would jump to 270, which is above all three of the other sales. I do not think this needs a raise when 3/4 of the sales are lower.

I have to disagree. Adding 300 as the high end would in turn raise the average here. The new average would be 270 (240-300 keys), and this hat doesn't need a raise when 3/4 of the sales are lower than that new average.

I'm not sure why you are fixated on this getting a raise or a drop. Suggestions should be reviewed independent of prior suggestions. We are calling older suggestions outdated for a reason. And the older suggestions here are 2+ years old. If this was unpriced, would you still stick with 240-260?

Yeah, you're right. But it isn't about older suggestions here. This isn't about this getting a raise or a drop either.

There are four sales at 240, 250, 260, and 300. If we made a range of 240-300, yes, it would involve all sales in the range here.

But, what I'm curious about is, why should the average of the price of the hat, be higher than three out of four sales for the hat? This isn't about being right or wrong, but I'm just interested in this matter.

As for your question, yeah, I would prefer sticking with 240-260, as the point mentioned above.

There are actually statistical definitions for determining outliers. Feel free to learn more about it - will likely help irl as well. If you do that, you'll find that 4 data points is not a large enough sample size to call a single sale at 300 an outlier.

If there were 10 sales 240-260 and 11th sale at 300, then you would be correct. You can either do the real math to come up with that or have enough experience with statistics to recognize that.
