No B/o, No other sale, Probably paid for the dual spells
https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561197977853499#!/compare/1585785600/1585958400
if it was prolly for the double spell then why would you make a sugg based on that
because nothing counters it (no proof that it was explicitly bought for the spells either)
I think its still safer not to use, but i may be wrong
It is the only sale for this hat in years. I wish i can go back in time and not mention my silly opinion about the sale since halloween spells on unusuals dont add much value and they surely dont double it
...unless its double spells/matching spells, it has been long proven that such spelled unusuals tend to sell a ton above its non-spelled counterpart
similar cases of spelled hat sales getting used for suggestions - https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5e61613981fbec076368e6ef & https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5e6161ac17a14126d1238131
Its definitely gonna be case per case, yeah. Id assume its alright to use if others haven't moved in years, i do wonder how dropping via spelled in a similar case would be then tho.
Incorrect; There have been cases of spelled Unusuals selling for hundreds of keys above BP price. It'd be like pricing Catastrophic Companions at 1000 keys to match with the price a spelled one had sold for once.
oh damn, the spells allowed a hat to double in price, pretty whack
I only paid that much as I collect this hat. If I were to turn around and trade this (I won't), then I would probably place it around 80-90 keys for the spells. So my offer did take into account the spells, but the majority of the offer was just to actually secure a trade. Hope this helps.
As a clarification on the discussion above:
I generally do not mind using spelled versions of hats for pricing purposes as in most cases, their added value is minimal. This changes in rare cases where a collector wanted a specific spell (happens most often on footprint spells). Even then I am generally in favor of valuing it as a regular equivalent, unless there are strong indications that its selling potential is much higher (e.g cases where spelled versions sell higher than unspelled sellers, or where someone added on top of a regular version for a spelled one, or if a spelled one outright sells higher consistently). Whether or not they are valued (or whether a spelled hat can be used to price it) is determined case by case.
With hats that rarely sell this becomes progressively harder to assess; the final comment below implies the spells were taken into consideration. However, at the same time, it also indicates that it was primarily the hat/effect combo he was after. This is strengthened by the fact that his backpack contains multiple cosas and phantoms, making it plausible the same user would also have bought it had it not been for the spells.
As such I'm fine treating this as if it were unspelled; no doubt this is higher than most would pay, but since it's the only sale without counter-evidence, I have no objections to reporting this sale as is.
