    in your original suggestion you mentioned the seller had it listed for 22 keys therefore this sale should be capped at 22 keys

      But it sold higher than that, I had overpayed. So it should be the price I bought it at, right? I just read the rules and it says nothing bout the listing of sale. The sold price matters the most.

        they had it listed at 22 keys meaning they would have accepted that amount in pure which is what the backpack.tf pricing guide tries to display - the pure value of items.

          ???? I didn't buy it all in pure. I bought it with an item I had, and some pure. I understand what you're saying, but I had offfered differently.

          It's like saying I bought an unusual at 16 keys when it was currently listed for 19 keys. Does that mean it should be 19 then?

            The quote doesn’t refer to a sale in pure. It accounts for people overpaying in items. The user was willing to accept 22 keys pure for the mirror therefore it should not be valued any higher than that amount.


            It’s not like saying it should be valued 19 keys in your example because it sold for a lower amount. For instance, if I’m selling an item for 10 and sell it for 8 then you would take 8 as the sale. In the other case, if I’m selling an item for 10 keys and I sell it for a 12 key item, the sale should not be valued higher than 10 as I was willing to accept that in pure. Another clear example is with the golden frying pan. There are a bunch of sellers at 1900 pure however these can often sell for 2500+ in unusuals.


            The reason for this is backpack.tf tries to display the pure value of items. Hence “no sale should be higher than a pure buyout” it can be lower.
