Seller finally got back to me and said there was no buyout listed on bp.tf since it sold after the database crash, so AFAIK the previous buyout has no effect and the price goes uncapped.

If the seller had lower b/o, it should be capped at that b/o even if that wasn't present at the time of the sale. However, I am going to accept this as close enough as the only proof of the b/o is a conversation between you and the seller, and the difference between capped and uncapped is pretty small.
