With no real way to discern which one of the sales is an outlier, this will have to remain at 180 keys until there is another sale.

How can you call this range an accurate representation of the item’s value? There are two widely discrepant sales with no clear way to know which one is correct.

Both of them have terrible ranges, but this range is even worse than that one. The high end for that suggestion is a little over 2x the low end. The high end of this suggestion somewhere around 2.35x of the low end. Thank you for providing an example. If you'd like, you can go and find the dozens of other suggestions closed for widely discrepant sales. In the end, you can cherrypick all the terrible ranged suggestions you like and you will find that the decision of accepting terrible ranges is in the minority in comparison to suggestions with terrible ranges being closed.

the terrible misunderstanding you have between comparing the two situations is in that given scenario the item was unpriced and should've remained that way, here it was clearly bought, priced, and then resold for more which completely changes the situation at hand :)

Your initial comment is comparing this item to a different effect entirely. The comments in the suggestion are showing you why it isn't feasible to compare items in this fashion. The point of me linking that suggestion is for the comments in response to your initial comment, not for the suggestion itself. Simply put, you started off with a misunderstanding.

lol i put a link to the suggestion because i thought it was funny molten mallard is priced at 200 and you said that 181 can't be distinguished as an outlier. but i definitely never said that it proved anything and it's completely unrelated to my statement about 181 sale being the outlier

In this situation, they may not be made to specifically counter the suggestion, but as it is now, they are not enough proof to prove one end is too high or too low.

oh my bad, didn't check if they were made after the suggestion was or not. In that case probably best to leave it at 180 and wait for a third sale then

give it another week or so and the point will be moot as the 180 sale will be outdated

I once had an item with two sales ranging from 95-175 and I was told to wait for more sales so no doubt they'll do the same for this too

While wide ranges have been accepted in extremely situational cases, this range is far too wide.

Typically we set the limit as the high end being double the value of the low end, though in even rarer cases (i.e. the Burning Noh at 107% and the Bonzo Heer's at 102%) the range was accepted despite being just over that 100% limit.

However, the high end here is well over double the value of the low end, so a third sale will be needed to determine which of these sales is the outlier, as the buyers made after the suggestion can't decide that on their own. Since another sale hasn't happened, this will have to wait for another sale to be updated further.
