if it sold for 80, where does 100 come from?

not to mention 4 months is too old to use anyway

It gave a high value (optional) That is where the 100 came from. The 100 is optional. I believe this hat could be sold for as low as 80 keys (because that's what it sold for) for up to 100 (optional).

February is the last time either of the 3 Baker Boys were ever sold therefor it is the latest sale. a 50 key price suggestion should not be the most accurate when the last time the hat sold was for 80 keys.

https://backpack.tf/rules/ you obviously didn't read the rules before making this suggestion. sorry, but the time for suggesting this using this sale has passed.

"Exceptions: For very rare hats, if there have only been 1-2 sales in the last 3 months, a trade up to 3 months old is okay to use as proof to establish more data points. Keep in mind, new sales should take precedence over older ones". Can you tell me what the exception is on a hat that only 3 exist of and the last time it was sold was 4 months ago? Clearly you can't use common sense to see that if a hat has a suggested price of 50 keys from 7 months ago and the LAST TIME IT sold was 4 months ago for 80 keys, tell me how it makes sense to keep the suggestion at 50 keys.

The sale you're using is outdated and can't be used in a suggestion since it's more than 3 months old. Also, where are you getting 100 from?

There are only 3 of these hats in the world. 2 of them will not be sold at any time. the 100 was (optional). 80 is what it sold for in February. The current price suggestion is from several months ago. The one I show proof of is the most up to date. How else am I supposed to get a price suggestion that is newer than 3 months when only 3 of these hats exist in the world.

you can't, not every hat is going to be updated all the time.

The maximum age a sale can be to be used in a suggestion is 3 months. If none sold within the past 3 months then you leave it outdated till a new sale happens. Also you need sales at both ends of your range. If the 80 key sale was in-date then you should have gone 80 keys flat here

I understand the suggestion should be at 80 keys flat now. I explained that it said the high was optional. It doesn't make sense to wait for a new sale to happen because I would be the only person to sell 1 of the 3 hats. The guidelines for this rule are outdated so how does that even make sense.

If you're planning on selling it then wait till you sell then use that as proof to update the price ;)

Also no, the rules aren't outdated. If the mods/admins ever decided to update the rules on how old a sale can be to be used in a suggestion, they would have updated it. However in this situation they didn't, therefore the 3 month limit still applies

ps: the option of having a high end is for situations when there are multiple sales on an item (ie. if you have 2 sales; 1 at 80 and an other at 90, you'd put 80 as the low end and 90 as the high end). When you only have one sale, you just put the same number in high end and low end

Ok. That is very illogical but if that's how the guidelines are going to stay it is what it is. If you see me drive a car right in front of you yet you have on paper "this car was last driven in 1995" though you just saw me drive according to these guidelines the car was never driven again until 1995 though you just saw me do it. But oh well I don't make the rules that's for sure.

Dude, I don't make the rules either. That's just the way it is

I understand. Have a good day.

There's another sale to buyers in January from the looks of it, so the argument to use this as the only sale will not work here. I'm very hesitant to allow sales past the 3 month threshold to prevent it becoming meaningless. A few days past could be excused in very specific cases, but using a sale from almost 5 months earlier is too much of a stretch. But as said, I would not have accepted here in either case due to the fact that it was in fact not the only sale.

Another argument that plays a part here is that the hat was not that far outdated. In fact, it was in-date when this sale happened (so the time difference between the point of suggesting and the sale was larger than that between the sale and its previous price).

Based on these things, this does not meet the requirements to be eligible for an exception to our 3 month threshold, regardless of the fact that the high end should not have been there.
