The muffs was used as collateral till the money was transferred
8030.
Apparently Sinaloa Cartel has arrived to tf2
mm yes, i hesitated getting one for 4,000 just a couple months ago
Another crazy misc sale. nice
How are these all happening so close together
its almost like its the same person buying them up
yes I just noticed that lmao
Well, its 3 different people
it says 4360 usd, why does it say 13090 on the suggestion? what am I missing?
[edit]
Nvm im an idiot, ignore this bit - just saw the other imgur images.
Im also confused about how the muffs were collateral; did MK send the muffs to him until he received money and then also get the muffs back?
Ill just screenshot the thing from yesterday lol: https://i.imgur.com/iyIkuvk.png
Yeah, the muffs and a bunch of other unusuals were collateral until MK received the wire transfer.
Yeah thats why I just gave foamy the screenshot, since I never asked MK what the items were, only checked compares briefly for what they could've been
Which of the two is it? the screenshots and the info/comments on the suggestion give conflicting stories:
- One says the money was sent first and that it was then given as collateral until the trade was completed (which makes no sense because then why not just send the hat to complete the trade?)
- The other says it was sent as collateral until the cash payment was received (which also makes no sense because thats not how collateral works)
I'm trying to make sense of this because this is a very eccentric purchase, so I want there to be no ambiguity
Well, pretty sure its: The payment was sent via 3 separate transfers, so till all transfers were complete, bish held the collateral stuff (being collateral, prolly valued lower than the Spacemann) and once all payments were finalized, bish exchanged the collateral stuff back for the Spacemann
Not sure why this seems eccentric or why this even matters to be cleared up but here's what happened lol
How transferwise works is you send money and it takes a while to process/convert currencies. The money doesnt get instantly charged from my bank. It takes a day or so for it to fully charge me and for it to arrive in the seller's bank. So I initiated the 3 payments (mk asked me 3 payments for certain reasons) and then MK gave collateral consisting of muffs, doorway pithy, and a bunch of unusual weapons. I held those until the payment fully went through (When MK could see the money in his bank and when the amount was fully deducted from my bank). After the payment went through I just traded the collateral for the spacemann.
The point of contention regarding the collateral is that typically the seller of the item would be the one seeking collateral in a trade, not the buyer.
MK offering an item as collateral before even receiving the money doesn't sound logical, since the buyer could just retract the payment and run with the collateral. A typical collateral situation would be MK sending the Space Mann for the cash and collateral from you, then once the cash actually goes through, then MK would return the collateral.
As for the suggestion itself, it'd normally be better to use the Key price from wire transfer sales rather than the Mannco Key price.
There aren't many threads on the forums to reference for this, but the transfer price is typically lower than Mannco's Key price.

However, in this case the Space Mann was also listed on Mannco for the same cash price, so the sale would end up being valued lower using the Mannco Key price. We can treat that as a kind of buyout cap here, but typically it'd be better to use the bank transfer Key price for bank transfer sales.
Crazy sale. Congrats 🥳👍
