Traded for Kaleidoscope Califonia Cap + 2 keys
https://imgur.com/jJPdVeI
Trade accepted with the understanding that the worth of the California Cap was worth the current selling value (43 keys)

Seller was asking for 39 keys, I agreed to overpay.

You can’t make a range from 1 sale. Also there’s a seller below your suggested price, making it invalid. Also you need to make a mini for the Cali cap, it’s long outdated.
Updating the California Cap price I can understand but a hat that's 1 of 3 with an event limited effect being invalid is unfair. - shouldn't that nullify the other seller since I bought the hat less than an hour ago? The other sellers' automatic bump hasn't even processed that just bought this. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with this reasoning.

sell order @ 32 keys, This range is weird, this means your purchase is outlier and therefore invalid
I don't know what you want me to do with this information, I just bought the hat, why would the other seller's asking price be valid if I just bought it for the established equivalent of 45 keys? The sell order should be nullified by the rules.
>(Determining an optimal range / identifying outliers) The hat is not a new hat / effect (i.e. new Halloween effects during the Halloween event). You must wait until after the event is over to price these based on a single sale.

Here is a sell order for 32keys, but you choose to buy another one with 45 keys, which obviously has a skill issue, In the rules this is an unthought-of purchase, so it is invalid
>which obviously has a skill issue
what are you talking about?
>In the rules this is an unthought-of purchase
Where does it actually mention this?
https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/6033-rules-for-unusual-price-suggestions/
Low End: Set the low end no lower than quickbuyer prices of a hat (more info and exceptions under "What is a quicksell?" below).
High End: Set the high end no higher than common b/o's and bounded by the high end sales.
Things to keep in mind
Evidence must not be cherry-picked. If an item is easily selling at a price outside of your suggested range at the current time, you should seriously reconsider if your suggestion is valid. Your suggestion might end up being closed if wiser users opposing your suggestion point out a list of active trades well out of the range you suggested.
outside = below

I'd understand if it was like 50 keys over come on who was buying this hat other than me? The last price update was 2 years ago.
The last one that sold on marketplace.tf was 2021 with https://marketplace.tf/items/tf2/30045;5;u88
https://backpack.tf/item/11540854435
he bought it on STN https://stntrading.eu/item/tf2/Unusual+Molten+Mallard+Titanium+Tyrolean
at 22 keys
with the intent to quicksell?

It’s kind of ridiculous to be arguing with people who have far more experience making price suggestions than yourself. Read the rules and remake the suggestion if you have adequate evidence of sales.
not nearly as ridiculous as posting a link to the rules without establishing the issue
