hat is not rare a ton exists, not a rare effect or hat and not even good, better effects have sold for about 30-40 keys

Unfortunately you have no idea what you are talking about. During the event when this hat was still unboxable it sold multiple times (undocumented) for in the 300 key range. After the event multiple owners have had offers in the 300 key range for this hat including myself, which I have declined. It's a themed hat that can make a really funny loadout, I get comments on it all the time when I wear mine and people screenshotting me in my Steam activity feed. Everyone has their own tastes and this item might not be for you.

Even if there are 9 in existance I challenge you to get your hands on one. They are all locked up by collectors or not for sale. It's a similar hat to the themed Massed Flies Swagman's Swatter where 7 exist but you will find it impossible to find one for sale (it took me YEARS to get mine). There are many people who enjoy wearing themed hats rather than a mess of unusuals effects on their face. Also, if anyone wants to sell theirs to me who may read this I will pay 100 keys pure instantly at any point in time in the future if you ever just want to get rid of it.

If you go to his profile you can see I left a comment saying I wasn't trying to sell it and referred him to Proct who I remembered did list his for sale many months ago. He then sent a way higher offer to Proct (before ever speaking to him over friends) and he accepted it. If I was made this offer for 800 keys in value I most likely would have taken it as it's a very good offer indeed. Proct got it and accepted and that's how it goes. You can raise you noses at it all you want but a sale is a sale.

I also agree with Fire wholeheartedly. Not surprised though. When i sold my Laugh O Lantern Toadstool topper (which is insanely themed) for 1000+ keys, they just and wouldn't accept that deal. The Centralized bankers of BP.tf sure love to dictate what THEY deem acceptable.

As a 1st Generation Admin for UHC when mann co trading started in fall of 2010, long before the Centralized bankers of bp.tf existed; I saw P fettis being traded for burning all the time, people traded for stuff they liked, there was no fixed value. You can't be like, mad at someone paying 800 keys for a super themed all class parody hat, then turn around and be completely fine with dropping $40k for hideous all class with a mid tier orbiting bat effect (yes its mid tier, i was there when they came out)

It's almost impossible for a hat and effect to be more matching and collectors own most, if not all, of them. I've had some really rare and expensive hats and the full Monoculus set gets way more comments than any set I've ever had/seen.

I paid a special snowfall tundra top, starstorm slumber pestering jester and 10 keys for my monoculi head bouncers. Its hard to price the tundra cause its 1 of 1 but a lavender snowfall tundra is priced at 175 keys and a slumber jester usually sells for around 90 keys. So thats at least 200+ keys in items.

Hey its the guy who sold the bouncers. The buyer specifically sent me a trade for the bouncers out of the blue for 299 + the peak.

After adding him to resend the trade and confirm if he was legit.

He later than said Fire offered as well for a few items + the bouncers for the original offer. We then concluded on 249 + the Peak

There is probably a good reason this suggestion is still open and has not been closed or accepted. It is a perfectly themed hat that almost never hits the market. It is definitely worth a lot more than the 30/50 keys some people throw around here. I’d personally easily pay 100+ keys for this and can see how others are willing to pay 200 or 300 aswell.

800 keys however, just seems very high - even after considering all of that. I can believe that this deal genuinely went down like this, but I would also not be suprised if more than half of the current owners would sell for 800 (or less) without blinking… let’s see what the admins make of.

the burning peak was recently updated to 575 keys making this original sale now 825~ keys but given this new sale at 250 keys it's probably best to leave this unpriced for now considering how far apart these 2 sales are
