860 was part of a bulkish buy, so I'm more inclined to go round and take 1600 keys?

Even if the trade is somewhat bulk, it’s only two hats and the Shanter has a pretty well-established price. Seems weird to exclude that.

Given the sale at 500 4 months ago, it feels more like the 1600 sale is an outlier

i think it was pretty much common knowledge 500 was a "quicksell" in the eyes of some, a shark in normal peoples eyes.

After looking closer at the sales I’m inclined to agree with you, the pan sale 2 looks closer to sale 1 at 1600 than the other sales at 500-850
