Buy and Sell Orders have been like this for about 8 Hours
Freddy Fazbear when Ref is worth $0.001 less
Now that prices stabilized a bit again, thought about doing this post just now as well! Good stuff
It's kinda interesting looking at key fluctuation
(Also to see bots losing money cuz their BO's were Ref's higher than SO's for about a week)
i did take advantage of this :^)
I'm curious, do you happen to have an idea of why the supply increased by almost half a million since like Oct. of last year? It seemed to be super stable for multiple years around 1.8-1.9million, but over the course of the last 4-5months the overall (atleast known) supply increased by almost 25%.
That's actually not hard to explain, Backpack TF doesn't actually track all keys in existence. Like how some Unusuals will 'go missing' for 9 years and magically appear back on the market. Some Unusuals will also say they are 1 of 1 when there are multiple in existance. There's limitations to Backpack TF tracking and sometimes it just looks like items will just 'appear' out of nowhere. Basically what I'm saying is that it's better at tracking the amount of items in circulation. Someone with 1000 Unusuals and 5000 Keys would go under the radar of Backpack TF by just keeping their Profile Private.
As for the quantity of Keys, I don't actually know. My guess is it has to due with Scream Fortress and Smissmas since the largest increase of Keys were around the start of those events.
Definitely easier to explain than to actually justify :P
Huh that's interesting! Still kinda curious of how exactly it's still increasing (with such a big rate as well), but thank you for your indepth response, gives allot of insight :D
As long as people play TF2, the # of Ref and the number of Keys *should* always go up due to in-game drops.
