England #95: In 1041, tensions reached a boiling point. Two of Harthacnut's tax collectors were killed by the people of Worcester after some disagreement, which led to Harthacnut to put his foot down and order his earls to burn down the town. Few civilians are killed as they left before the earls arrived, the civilians (somehow) also fended off Harthacnut's army on an island in the River Severn and won the right to return home without further punishment.
