Dutch Fact #1: Holland does not mean the Netherlands. The Netherlands is made up of 12 different provinces. Holland is the name for two of those provinces: North and South Holland. The country officially stopped using Holland as a nickname at the end of 2019 as part of a big rebranding campaign.
