https://imgur.com/a/kCzKdVF (10 keys went back to moth)
fish had this listed at $1600 on mp.tf before the sale
https://imgur.com/a/WEI4Rt1
keys were 1.75 at the time, means the buyout would be 914 keys.
rounding to 910
If it was 1000 keys pure? Shouldn't it be 1000 keys flat?
Where did the 1000 go?
not sure what youre asking, if you mean why its not being priced at 1000, its buyout capped if you read the suggestion at all lol
OH my bad. My brain is "freshly woken up" brain and I thought that was 2 different sales. I am very smart, as you can see (this is a joke)
Hey, i'm the buyer, i've been talking to fish (the seller).
I've been confused why the price was at 910 instead of the 1000 paid, since that was already under the price asked. I get it now, but i still think it's wrong.
Fish had the hat priced on bp.tf at "$1600 OR 1600/1.5 = key price" for weeks. I don't do big cash trades, so i took it as a "1066 keys price". I waited, it didn't sell, I contacted and offered 1000 keys and Fish accepted. You can confirm that pricing with the seller.

When i got in contact, he removed the mp.tf listing, a few days before the trade actually happened (and told me he was, so the item didn't get bought)

It's a situation where the seller was putting up a cash price at $1600 and a key price at 1066 keys = $1845 mp.tf price, i disregarded the cash price as I simply prefer the security of trade authenticator.
Neither photo works anymore, can u upload to imgur?
such a sexy hat and effect
i reckon it would be best to not cap the pure sale with a marketplace listing. if it sold for 1000 pure, it should be fine to just price it at that regardless of what they were selling for, especially if we're basing a B/O off of a marketplace listing, which can vary depending on the day.
very old, but somewhat similar situation: https://backpack.tf/suggestion/56ebef5dba8d88a42a186355
agreed, considering what moth wrote.
Yeah I agree with Jarool and JayTuut here. It should be 1000 keys flat
Cool.
Just made a counter - https://backpack.tf/suggestion/675599e205321d61fc0b55f1
Good work, I don't know if Cheerio is inactive as its been over a month since Jarool posted and moth posted 4 months ago lol
Thanks JayTuut. It's the least I can do, brother. Cheerio may just be busy or smth.
im not inactive i was waiting for a price mod to weigh in on this, not cool of you to counter my sugg before a mod has even said anything or before i knew i needed to change it
Cheerio bro I'm telling you as a homie and so did others nicely like James, Jarool, Moth, and JayTuut, it's supposed to be 1000 flat
You can always just ask a Mod on Discord
have a while ago, theyre discussing it
The situation here is a unique one. Conventionally, we don't cap full pure sales at a lower buyout, but in some cases we do - this depends on the nature of the sale and why extra was paid. For this sale, had the buyer bought the hat on Marketplace, they'd have paid the equivalent of 90 Keys less than they paid in Keys. That cash price was in place for weeks as noted by Moth above, so it holds significance here. While the listing on this site may have stated a different Key price to convert to the number of Keys the seller would want, the fact still remains that any buyer could've paid less with cash on Marketplace.
The rationale given for why the buyer paid more was to avoid dealing with cash, and an argument can be made that the premium paid because of that should be treated like the premium paid for a reservation fee - these are excluded from suggestions because it's a convenience to reserve a sale, but anyone could just as easily pay the buyout price without reserving in advance. On the other hand, with cash not being explicitly pure in the sense that it's not a Key, an argument can be made that the labor needed to convert between cash and Keys is real, and there are risks to dealing with cash, so wanting to trade for a larger value in Keys than in cash is understandable.
After discussing this, we feel it'd be best to make an exception for this specific case and have a range between the lower cash buyout converted to Keys and the actual sale value in Keys (910 - 1000). 910 isn't explicitly a buyout in Keys, but it being so much lower than 1000 and listed for a lengthy period should not be ignored.
We did shuffle spy was discussing it 2 days ago. Imo it's common sense to do the price suggestion at 1000 keys. I closed my suggestion as an act of good faith. Cheerio and I were arguing to the void on Sunday
I asked blaze but he didn't reply :(
