This kind of sale doesn't make any sense. Why does a person pay 575 keys for a hat that he/she could easily buy for 300 or even less? I doubt someone would refuse 300 for this hat.
Buyer here, the answer is this item had extreme personal sentimental value and I just wanted it back to finalize my inventory permanently. Wasn't interested in cashing out or playing the trading game. I liquidated a bunch of old items I don't use to hail-mary a sale so I could finally put this to bed and be done with it. I was fully aware the price was egregious, but it's what the seller was willing to part with it for, and I had the keys. Not a conventional sale by any means.

Read Tomato's post above, they bought the hat for a very sentimental reason. While i totally agree the price is insane I also get why they paid this much if it held that much personal value.
