Three things,

1) You need to be able to prove the price for both of the items used in this sale.

- The Burning Flames Brotherhood of Arms hasn't been priced for over a year, and for it to be valid here it would need to be priced again (we typically don't use things that go beyond 3 months)

I hate warpaints, but you would also have to prove that too.

2) The buy out for this particular sale was 450, so even if you wanted to cap both items at 400, you couldn't.

If you price the Burning Flames Brotherhood of Arms and it ends up being higher than 450, you also wouldn't be able to cap the suggestion to 450 because Oli has one for sale for 425, which would be lower than the suggestion and would make the sale "high" and invalid

I put the price at 400 based on a similar BoA being recently sold for 380ish, added with the BO for the Hot cardboard box warpaint being at roughly 20 ish keys, coupled with 375-400 being the median price between buy and sell orders. also the DP rack is 3 years out of date, with most recent suggestion 4 months ago.

purely going off of buy orders is not exactly an honest or even legitimate way to gauge pricing, with some egregious examples being BO for the collector's rack at 3 keys.

You need to make a suggestion for the Burning Brotherhood so that you can use a value here. Also provide evidence of buy orders for the Hot Cardboard.

I agree that pricing things exactly off of buy orders isn't great, which is why I said that you would need to price the Brotherhood so you wouldn't have to use the buy orders.

(If we do need to use buy orders, we use the highest available one.)

You can say it works, but in the eyes of a suggestion it is invalid.

Something about suggesting is that if something makes up <50% of a sale (so in this case, the Brotherhood is less than half of the value on that side), you cannot use that as valid proof.

Basically if something is used as sweets for a trade, you shouldn't be able to derive a true value from that.

Also, that item history alone has 3 sales that can be looked at.

You would need to look at all of the sales that have happened within the last 3 months with these histories in order to actually prove a value to be used here:

why would a price suggestion for a BoA even be needed if the current price already works, factoring lowest SO/highest BO, along with recent sales?

I don't make the rules, I just follow them.

Especially because hats in this range can still be somewhat volatile in consistency. If the Brotherhood is even different by like 10 keys, that does change the suggestion for hats in this range.

Regardless of how you feel of this matter, you still need to abide by the suggestion rules.

edit: a mod told me a while ago that suggestions are a reflection of the current market. So if you are using prices from over 3 months ago, that isn't a reflection of the current market. Even if the range is valid, you have to prove that it is still valid now. (which means, yes, make another suggestion for it)

the BF BoA currently has a median price of ~400 keys, with SO and BO being roughly 50 keys apart in either direction

this very much proves the current price suggestion is still valid

The average between the lowest sell order and highest buy order is ~410 keys, which would immediately make your argument invalid. You still need to find sale data that supports it. If sales were towards the sell order instead, the price could very well be closer to 430 instead, which would make this entire sale invalid due to it being over sell orders.

I have only found one sale that definitively backs up the BoA price, with a recent sale at 370 keys(your example No. 5), but given that would entail a difference of 5 keys, that very much falls within the margin for error
