Yo i like the theme to this one actually wtf? Such a good purchase for it too lol wtf!
Non-traders casually dumping stuff on SCM for summer crate key.
I wish i saw that one actually dangit lol. Would've been a cool themed unusual to have.
what a steal, some rich collector is gonna pay like 500 keys for this
Yeah, orbiting fire qs for near 200 keys I remember.
Yeah looks like the pumpkin party backwards ballcap for the orb fire toast + aces crones https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198196622954#!/compare/1753488000/1753574400
I am sure I am not the only one who offered far more than this, but I‘ll provide this just to avoid this getting accepted unchallenged.
https://imgur.com/a/8Djmfwa
In case the pure offer is not considered proof (fair, as I‘d have to buy the keys first), here is the items I put into the offer:
- energetic haunter blast defense (buyers at 44k)
- p. fetti plumber cap (buyers at 48k)
- treasure trove Antarctic (buyers at 85k)
- treasure trove chills (buyers at 112k)
So basically 290 keys pure which should easily counter this suggestion

"common trade points are defined by completed sales"
People used to believe that “C/O” "P/O" could counter suggestions, but by the rules, it’s meaningless.
https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/6033-rules-for-unusual-price-suggestions/
„Offers
Offers alone are not enough to make a suggestion. This does not mean that offers are not helpful. They are very useful for defining a range and identifying outliers (see section below).
Fake, retracted, "collecting" offers are not valid proof. Offers are only valid if there is documented proof of the offer - either in comments or via screenshots of chat logs. Declined trade offers are better than verbal offers in chat for proof.“
I fully agree that my offer cannot be used to price this, but it is definitely proof that this suggested price is bogus

buyer >100 keys when creating a suggestion.

P/O @ 125 keys if take buyer at that time.
Even if you put up a 300 keys buy order right now, it won’t change anything tho.
"They are very useful for defining a range and identifying outliers (see section below)."
Used solely for detecting outliers or define a range if there are over 3 sales, any 1:1 hats with single sale don’t matter here. “Common trade points are defined by completed sales” is always the top rule in suggestions, and it’s written on the front page.
guess continuing the argument is meaningless, we can wait for the mod’s input.
Lol
This feels unreasonably cheap for it being quite themed too wow
Its time to acooopt mods
Buyers at 150-200 now, maybe it's better to close this suggestion.
After your comment, the 200 buyer dipped fast https://ibb.co/tMNwLFq4 Since there are plenty of real examples, I think it's fair to just wait for the mod.
He just ran out of keys, His b/o is still active
IMO if that’s a genuine buy order then this suggestion should not be accepted. I’m aware of the rules, but if we have a bit of nuance its pretty obvious that this hat is not worth 96 keys, even at the time of sale.
How can OP prove that it wasn’t a quicksell for example? A quicksell shouldn’t be used to price a hat by itself
A suggestion in the same situation has indeed been accepted before. I've said this three times already, I'm waiting for the moderator's explanation: https://backpack.tf/suggestion/675384c9f6a4467b6c03765d
My stance is that anyone could fabricate buy orders or have a friend place an inflated offer. How can you prove they're not merely “actors”? Only completed trades can speak for themselves. Yep, there are plenty of “actors” sending fake offers and using “PO” for publicity, you can't get any evidence if they just don't accept the offer. Unless they try to fake a screenshot.
Idk this seems like a weird situation. Per the rules, it should be accepted, and that may be the bottom line. But at the same time, I think everyone is aware that this hat is worth a good deal more and will never sell for this low again. At what point does it defeat the purpose of making a price suggestion at all?
The rules do state that the purpose of price sugg is to show the value of an item. But once human nature and interests are involved, it's not that ez. And the moderators don't seem to treat this as a top priority: https://backpack.tf/suggestion/68407875a64490c5aa08eee8 (Politics, that's it, check mannco rules) I’d say the only real purpose of a suggestion is simply to be “accepted”
The buyer rejected my 400 keys offer, stating he likes playing engineer atm. So in all likelihood there will not be another sale here. (which is what mods are probably hoping for, as that would make this an easy decision)
The rules may state that this technically should be accepted, but at the same time it completely defies logic. Imagine another one of these surfacing in another non-traders backpack. If it where to sell again for 96 keys because of the up-to-date suggested price I‘d personally consider the price mods complicit in sharking…
IMO there is absolutely no reason to put a price tag on this (or on similar items that have no sales in reasonable price ranges)
People paying more for spells is already common knowledge, but the mods will accept spell suggestions without hesitation as long as they’re 1:1 in the world. Ppl then go, “Imagine a non-spell version surfacing in another non-trader's backpack, no one would ever be willing to pay the same price, so should all spell suggestions be closed then?” The answer: No.
What I mean is, if people can just assume infinite scenarios, then no suggestions should exist at all.
“I'm willing to pay 30” “This shouldn't be worth that much, cause maybe the item isn't 1:1” "They ignore all offers (Even if it's just a gift from a friend, like if you sent 500 keys offer for my Infernal Impaler, I'd reject it without thinking)" If the starting point is just "imagine if", then the whole thing falls apart.
About shark, most halloween hats are only worth 100 keys (lenny face, according to those old sugg) Would anyone really sell a halloween hat for 100 keys? If they do, I'd say that has nothing to do with the suggestion. Conversely, a suggestion will never affect an actual sale when someone truly wants: https://backpack.tf/suggestion/68d14a42eb87ad16a903cb6d
(duplicate cause net issue, sorry)
This is a classic counterexample, but likewise, sugge was accepted, since "assumption" has no real meaning:

Yeah idk im not into the pricing scene so im not saying it should be one way or the other i just noticed that its still there
Adding a mod response here due to the number of comments, and multiple downvotes here (albeit a small percentage).
We're happy to accept this, it's recording the sale as is and it doesn't appear the current owner is selling it currently, or will be in the near future.
Should this sell again, it can be re-updated, that's not a problem. The current owner of the hat has not commented here either, implying they are okay with this being accepted.
As many of the other cases commented here, buyers have shown up after the suggestion was posted (and have seemed inconsistent at best according to the other comments here) which we usually accept.
