Hello again spacey Blast Defense gamers, it's been a while.

Item 1: https://backpack.tf/item/13380061216

Sale 1: Sold alongside 3 extras that were instadumped same-day for a Strange Fully Charged Starlight Sorcerer

https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198010863571#!/compare/1756425600/1756684800

https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198840987606#!/compare/1756598400/1756684800

Ghastly Grove Sky High Fly Guy was dumped for 70k 12.55 ref

The Dead Head was dumped for 14k 25.33 ref

Crusader's Getup was dumped for 8k 16 ref

Total value of dumps: 92 keys, 53.88 ref, rounding this to 93 keys based on the value of keys at the time of suggestion.

Strange Fully Charged Starlight Sorcerer open suggestion valuing it at 279k can be found here: https://backpack.tf/suggestion/68b88a21beca699893054679

279 keys - 93 keys in dumps leaves the Blast Defense's value in the trade at 186 keys.

One sale at 186 keys, taking 186.

From what I understand the person I got this from effectively paid more than the 186 keys you argue.

But either way, since I traded for this theres another, 2nd sale to consider now!?

Well it took a week (and I realized 50~ suggestions too late this had a way more logical conclusion, lol) but this sale can't be used for pricing since it's bulk. Even though it sold for the Noh Mercy which was suggested at 1135 keys, this would make it (the Blast Defense) worth 475 keys, but the Noh Mercy's classified snapshots has it buyout capped at 1100 keys for that sale, so the max it can be worth from this is 440 keys.

For this to be usable as a non-bulk sale it would need to be valued at 660k+, which is impossible based off of the trade made, and even if it wasn't, it being unsold for 5 months at 500k would be a hard counter that would make that 660k~ valuation invalid anyways.

So asking for pure or in the case of mixed/item for overpay isnt a thing anymore? Okay, not usable to reprice, but doesnt that atleast, also considering the buyorders on the blast defence, make the questionable pricing logic you applied seem like a bulk sale / quicksale / low outlier thats maybe not so representative for pricing?

But taking 186 only because it was traded for a item thats very hard to price and the seller of that then quickselling the stuff is very obvious and usable?

So you look back a total of 3 trades just to see that the items eventually were, to use your word, "dumped" for quicksell prices to then take that number (which is literally 5 keys above buyorders)?

You use quicksell prices around 3 corners because that makes it easy to just get a key ammount... Just to end up with a sale of 186, just 5 keys above buyorders. Not only that but also based off of quicksell dumps, so somebody who just needed keys fast, not an actual sale. Even if it were straight 186 pure, wouldnt that also just be considered a quicksale and therefor not representative with buyorders of 181 keys?

Or does that rule for pricing no longer exist?

This isnt a sugguestion trying to price it reasonably and represent the value, but rather seems like an easy try to price something at buy order price pretty much for the goal of having another "easy" succesful sigguestion on your profile.

If this wpuldnt be a quicksale with buyorders of 181 you might aswell just reprice any item that doesnt have any usable sales at buyorders or 3% above and call it a day. Thats certainly not helping to have an updaded realistic value.

There is a reason that you differenciate between a quicksell and a regular one, its people needing or wantingoney fast, but not a repesentative of the value an item has in an actual, regular sale...

A listing at 500 is irrelevant honestly, mostly because of it being unsold for so long, and I know personally from the Vicious Vampires Mean Captain I've had listed at the same price as George since last Halloween, he hasn't moved it down from 300 keys, despite it being unsold on Marketplace.tf for $175. If the one on Marketplace sells for $175, which is like, <100 keys, I can't say "well buyers are 60k, and my listed is 300k, so this is a quicksell right?"

Even if we wanted to apply the whole "we have to wait for a third sale to resolve discrepancy", there are no other sales, this one for the Noh Mercy is bulk and is unusable, and if George is unable to sell for 500k in 5 months, (and it's worth mentioning it was actually picked up 9/22/24, so happy one year anniversary to George's SS Blast Defense!) with it being listed for possibly longer, that is leaning more towards it being overvalued.

More than anything, this thing is tied to the value of the Strange Fully Charged Starlight Sorcerer, with the person who bought it used it as mixed, but it was not considered valuable enough by the buyer nor the seller, especially given their willingness to dump it for that, and it being used as bulk in the following movement. There's no competition in the buy orders at 181k, both are relatively recent, and while that does bound our lower end to that value, just because the only seller has wanted 500k doesn't mean it will ever get 500k, so pretending this has a massive range because it was overpaid for or could have inflated buyers is disingenuous at best.

The slander's rude though, as I told you it took close to 50 suggestions just to price the Noh Mercy to get a determination of what this was paid for in that trade. If I wanted "easy" suggestions I wouldn't have gone out of my way making this many complicated suggestions and related mini trains to validate this secondary sale. Which is ALSO crazy, because that suggestion (the Noh Mercy) is also running a risk of re-suggestion due to having a high outlier sale at 1490 that might need to be excluded, pending mods input. Noh Mercy's quite often have large ranges, so it's not uncommon, but it still requires a verdict from them. If it was an outlier worthy of exclusion, that would mean the Noh Mercy's only two sales have been 780 and 846, which would price it at 813, and would mean the BD's value in this sale (yes, yours!) would be 153 keys, below buyers. This is of course, using this BD in pricing the Noh Mercy, and if we were to exclude that since they can't use co-dependent pricing, then the Noh Mercy would have a single sale of 780, which would then price this at 120 keys, also below buyers.

So our only uses of this "500 key" Blast Defense have been mixed overpay for a speculatively valued item, and bulk, both of which haven't reflected well on it's value. We also have a 500 key listing unsold for some period between 5 months and a year, depending on if George has relisted or not.

This isn't to say you can't speculate on it possibly receiving more, but until someone pays that amount, it's just speculation. You keep referring to an actual regular sale, which this item has not received in a long time. Until someone is willing to fork over 500k~ for one of these, you can only use the available movements to make this, which are stated above.
