art 3. Determining an optimal range / identifying outliers

Unpriced hats - hats that have never had a proper suggestion or have no price

Two sales are required to establish a range on unpriced hats. If the two sales are discrepant, a third sale is required to determine the outlier.

Exception 1: High Tier Hats

Sales for high tier hats (>200 keys) can be based on a single sale if there are no other sales in the last 3 months. Estimations can be made for unpriced/outdated parts of that trade as long as reasonable.

Exception 2: Rare Hats

Any hat can be priced based on a single sale if ALL these criteria are met:

There are no other recent sales in the last 3 months

If the owner has not resold the hat 1 month after the sale occurred OR the hat went to a collector or person who intends to keep the hat. A collector can be identified by looking at the person's trade history, item history of similar unusuals in the backpack.

The hat is not a new hat / effect (i.e. new Halloween effects during the Halloween event). You must wait until after the event is over to price these based on a single sale.

in the rules, it may be this situation, it seems both of you dont agree much, so maybe 1 more sale is needed to determine a outlier. Genuinely curious if this instance of a suggestion for the hat has created this situation

I agree with you that we may need another sale to determine a price on this item, however I doubt a sale will happen in the foreseeable future as the current owners are not likely to sell.(Aside from the one on mannco which I believe is unlikely to sell as it is priced significantly higher than my suggestion, but if it did sell it would further support the range I am suggesting) I do not intend to sell this hat anytime in the next few years but I doubt with my limited trading history this would fall under the collector criteria.

true, if both price suggesters agree to recognize eachothers sales, i feel like the main issue is 1 is calling the 44 key sale a "quicksale" even thou 44 keys IS SO OUT OF ANY BUY PRICE, while the other doesnt recognize 27 as a sale either because they sold it for profit later on. But 1 thing in favor of this suggestion over making it a range, is that the 27 keys is a scrap.tf auction, last i remembered, a price suggestion made on a auction sale doesnt get accepted (i did so on a blades of betrayal dell dynamic and got rejected so fast)

This statement is entirely wrong. You are relying on a "single, closed" suggestion as the basis of your argument, which is incorrect.

Hey you have nothing to prove to me honestly, I don't care, I've seen alot of times where comments criticize it when users like me or white belts do it, we get shot down, your examples are all yours apart from 1... so yeah status makes influence, the issue with your suggestion is that the user sold it for profit, either you accept it or not

Just admitting that saying “auctions can’t be used for suggestions” is wrong. It has nothing to do with your star count. I don’t understand why you’re always so full of yourself, u always think the criticism you get is only because of star.

To be clear, all of my arguments are aimed at the moderators. Everyone else is irrelevant. If your argument is wrong, I'll call it out, even if you're a mod.

You need to chill a bit dude, you are taking this way to seriously and also, even thou you work al this up about auction suggestions, etc, until a clear line of rule set is created on how to utilize a auction for a suggestion,i dont think its ever going to be resolved until everyone else gets clear rules on its understanding. That's all, if you are so knowledgeable in the subject of using auctions for suggestions, then maybe you should make a rule set for everyone to follow and that way we can all do so, instead of maybe having it accepted or having people with your attitude wall over others without actually explaining why a auction constitutes a fair suggestion. Cause a Auction can easily be manipulated by bad actors, overpay can be done very easily also, it can be organized, and controlled also, etc. My point is, using a Auction as a sale is subjective in the context of things unless a clear line of official rules on this site are created for all of us to be able, you dont need to get all upity or take it so personal, no one is calling you out, this is a interesting situation and topic, and a clear line of understanding such situation is a example for all of us to learn, and not just spread spite and toxicity. The rules don't prohibit using auctions as suggestions, it's that simple

Yeah I know, but thats to broad, if exceptions such as using Mann co store sales are not allowed, then specifications for auctions could perfectly be made for the rest of us.

If you're not satisfied with the current rules, you can make a suggestion post on the forum.
