Just realized that this could look like I'm trying to raise the prices of my items for profit. I only posted this because I felt that the price was inaccurate. This will have detrimental effects on my ability to buy earbuds too, so it's a net wash for me.
You don't need an explanation, everybody does it for their own price, secretly.
Nobody pays 28 keys, is extremely rare, and for 27, 1-2 weeks to sell. The current price is good imo.
Just because buyers ASK for 28 keys doesn't mean they GET it, lol. The last time I saw anyone trying to sell for 28 keys, it was on T-Virus's server and everyone strongly believed that was overpriced.
I believed that it was obvious that the price of a bud was 27 keys.
Normally people buy buds for 1 key less then sell it for market, there's people offering 26 keys per buds, and that's buying them. 27s becoming the norm to sell them at. Although if this goes through, then people will be buyin for 26 and selling for 28
It's not summer anymore, and the majority of earbud sellers are selling for VERY slightly increased prices. About 50 cents - 1 dollar... to be honest this is a fairly fair price increase. Eg: My two friends, Gear, and Penguin, have started selling earbuds @ 32-33USD, as opposed to 31-32USD.
66.3 refined is still fine though.
AciD, if you read the notes or clicked my links, you'd see how wrong what you said was.
No no no bud is a reference so don t moove the price
This price won't get accepted because its still possible to get buds for 26 keys.
I sold 30+ buds for 26.5 keys, in the past 3-4 days. I bought 25 of them at 26 keys each. Down voted, as this wont get accepted, and this price check is false.
According to your theory, keys should be 2.66 Ref, but they're not.
ok,+/- 1 week to sell for 27, but 28 keys, I'm not wrong about this. And reading the commentaries, I don't know how this vote is being accept.
You can still get them for 26, idk if people get them for 25, but there are 25k trades for them. Gonna go neutral
Buds are $30 or 26 keys. That's it.
I haven't bought or sold many buds, but it's been 26 keys without a discussion every time. It's almost implied. Every ask on tf2trade is for 26 keys as well, although I don't know how many are bought.
This is kind of a bizarre suggestion in my mind but I'm not going to vote as I've only bought and sold a few pairs of buds over the past week.
Aci, you are wrong about this. If you read the notes or clicked the links, you'd see that it takes a matter of minutes to sell at 27, not in any way weeks.
Dignity, it's possible to get any item for any price, that has no bearing on its market value. Everybody is selling at 27 keys. In addition, 66.33 + 2.55 is 28.88. There's no theory involved here, I don't know where you learned math or English, but you should give it another try.
Feel as though price raise is for the sake of personal profit. Seeing them sell between 25 and 26 perfectly fine. 27 and 28 are not so much.
Cariobutt, please read the first comment. In addition, if you looked at the cited links, you'd see how many dozens are being sold with ease at 27, and up to 28, while I have found it impossible to buy at 25.
i remember the days when buds was alot cheaper.... dam hoarders
His argument is that people are asking now 28 keys for buds? she's can borrow up to 30 keys, but, is difficult to see someone paying that price. And, 1 minute to sell earbud?
Your trades don't represent all. just examples

and to replace the keys all say --- key = 2.66
Firstly, samhudson, please watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0
Samhudson, you are the one that failed grade 2 math here.
2.55 Ref x 26 Keys = 66.33 Refined
2.66 Ref x 26 Keys = 69.33 Refined
Somehow, I managed to only sell 3 buds yesterday, at 26.5 Keys. Usually, I would sell at least 7 buds per day.
Just because an item is getting more + votes, doesn't necessarily mean it will get accepted, and in this case, it won't.
It takes a LONG time to sell buds @ 27 keys, and you may get 1 person, top 3... that actually offer 27 Keys for 1 Bud. Your logic is extremely off.
And you'd probably be able to sell 3 buds, maximum in a week, at 27 Keys.
i've seen a few sales at 28, impossible to find at 25, a wait at 26..
if people keep trying to get 28+ keys for buds, they are going to go right back down to 18 keys like they did in that one crash a while back, mark my fucking words. People do not like paying close to 30 keys for buds. So then they just refuse to pay. People get desperate to sell, start lowering prices. People still refuse to buy, they keep going lower till it bottoms out.
as much as I'd like it to be worth more, its not at this time
Dignity, you're honestly retarded, aren't you? 66.33+ 2.55 =68.88 ref. That's 27 keys, or 26+ 1. Nobody is valuing keys at 2.66, I don't see what you're failing to understand. It's humorous how idiotic you are, and that you still believe that you are correct. You still clearly have not read the notes, or clicked the reference links. I've sold over 20 earbuds in the last two weeks at that price. It is the price. The spreadsheet recognizes it, and so does every other trader.
I've sold a pair of buds for 71.55 ref (28 keys @ 2.55 ref each) easily, So I think this is a good price.
this week i sold 4 pairs of buds and got loads of "26 key QUICKSELL buys" buds on Outpost and on most unusual trade servers. Its fairly easy to get 26.5-27 so this is more accurate ;) +vote
This is a somewhat important price to change on this site, so I opened this up on tf2trade: http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2trade/comments/108aus/pc_earbuds/
Hopefully it gets a response.
Due to how much influence backpack.tf is, and how often earbuds are STILL trading @ 26 keys (66.3 ref) I have a hard time seeing pudding accepting this submission. The price is fine, just leave it. Until we see a majority of earbuds trading @ 27-28 keys, this should just stay as it is. Right now, there's maybe a 10% segment of people who are trying to sell earbuds @ 28 keys each. Those are greedy people on outpost. Earbuds are generally sold on websites like sourceop for 32usd/26keys. Sometimes cheaper.
Realistically, we shouldn't ever raise a price that could get you run out of a trade server with pitchforks. Outpost works for some things, but outpost has been selling keys successfully for 2.66 weeks now, and I can go out and buy 80 keys for 2.55 in 15 minutes.
I've posted buying and selling trades for earbuds @ 26 recently, and people bite at both equally quick. No longer than 2 minutes.
Outpost breeds desperation in people, we shouldn't just assume that their price is correct. You will know when buds are 27.
First, guy above me. Tell me where I can buy 80 Keys at 2.55 Ref in 15 minutes. Exaggeration.
This increase won't get accepted cause its easy to get buds at 26 Keys. You say you sold 20+ in the past 2 weeks... I sold 35 in the past 5 days. If you are talking about patience, then really, this increase is pointless.
Please understand that price is not determined by the highest price people sell for. People who urgently need buds find the cheapest buds on the first page of tf2op, and buy them.
Reason why I only sold ~35, is because I make my buyers post that they want a bud, and I would add them. A lot of them can't read, so they add me straight away, but I don't sell to them.
97% of outpost values keys @ 2.66 Ref, especially when dealing with buds. The reason it's priced at 66.3 ref is because this site values keys at 2.55 ref.
As long as buds keep going for 26 keys this shouldn't be raised to 27.
I've seen people buy this for 27 keys but I think it's quiet rare. 26 keys should still be solid.
I'll absolutely tell you that hopping from trade servers, asking to buy keys for 2.55 each will net you more than 80 keys in 15 minutes if you have the metal. Also, most people on Outpost post buy threads for 2.44 and sell threads for 2.66, if you split the difference at 2.55 buying or selling you will get swarmed with adds.
However, what's important is that Keys, Bill's and Buds are Rate of Exchange items. Prices aren't determined on what the desperate are willing to pay on Outpost, they are determined by what most people assume is the going rate.
Raising the price here would be preemptive and premature. It would actually force the Buds rate to increase.
Sorry, but that is false. It's very hard to buy keys at 2.55 Ref. I will put a trade up, and see how many adds I can get in a week.
It's still possible, though.
It's not at all hard to buy keys at 2.55, if I wanted to pay that much I'd get a ton of adds. I already buy regularly at 2.5 each. Basically everything you're saying here is lies, dignity.
It's been sitting at 26.5 keys for a while on average at http://tf2finance.com/ -- maybe the new system will allow 26-27 keys and people will stop bothering us with this price suggestion every 2 days.
I tried to buy earbuds for 26 keys for 2 days without luck. Nobody was selling. Everyone was selling for 27 keys or up. So you got my vote
^^^^ Lol, I sell buds for 26.5 Keys?
I'm the liar, right.

Top link: 1 in stock 39 minutes later, because buyers are so crazily eager to buy at the discounted price.
Middle: Sold out before I even clicked it
Last: Has no earbuds in his backpack, and thus is unable to sell them at that low price.
Good detective work, bro! You really showed me the light, I'm happy to unnecessarily sell my items for a discounted price now!
Anybody that has traded earbuds recently knows the price is 27 keys. You can see how many people have commented and said this themselves. On the other side are those who refuse to change the price because they believe that a currency should be stable, and don't understand the concept of inflation.
From your trade: "26 Keys + 1.33 Ref -- Each (One of the cheapest on OutPost)" You know the value is 27 keys, and you advertise yours as being cheap. Why are you so opposed to what we both know is a fair and valid price adjustment?
First, I don't say it is the cheapest. Second, when you search for buds, it's hard to find people selling for 26 Keys, because people want the most they can get, and sometimes, they don't get want they want. That's why people sell for 28 Keys, or sometimes more.
People who are desperate will pay 27 Keys, but people who are patient, can buy for 26 Keys. In server's, it may be easier, but it's patience that matters.
And the same with keys, but keys are a little easier.
Gotta love TF2Outpost ._.
I think the current price is fine, it shouldn't be risen just because some Buds sell at this price. The price should only rise if the majority of Buds are being sold at 27 Keys, but they sell at 25-27. I think 26 is the right price and this should be risen.
Rasiel, I've had a trade autobumping every hour on Outpost buying for 25 keys for the last 3 weeks, nobody has wanted anything to do with it. The minimum price is 26, but the real price is 27. People will buy for 28 if they're in a hurry. There's not much of a debate here, if you trade buds, you know the price is 27.
samhudson333: You should take a step back and stop cheerleading this price change. You made the suggestion; let the discussion happen.
There are people here who trade buds at 26 keys still.
I don't believe Outpost prices should weigh so heavily on a staple item such as buds.
For example, on r/tf2trade I see people posting trades selling multiple buds @26 keys each day.
I feel that the price should be 26-27 keys, but I don't think Outpost prices have contributed to that conclusion.
xen: If people comment stupid things, I'm going to reply. I stand to lose a ton of rep if people like Dignity sway people's votes to the wrong side. This price is clearly the right price, and I'm not willing to let that happen. I'm all for a fair discussion of the price, but blindly shouting nay for no reason isn't ok.
One Upper: TF2Outpost is one of the biggest markets, it obviously has a pretty big effect on the prices of items. There's sharls there the same as there are lowballers there, the same as there are the two of those everywhere. Its prices are worth no less than any other site's.
samhudson333: What you don't understand is that the current price, right now, on this site, is 26.5 keys. Right in the middle of 26 and 27 which everyone is bickering about, and a fair and accurate price that people are trading this item at.
Brad Pitt himself has commented in this thread saying that there will be an update to show a range of prices, instead of one price. The 26-27 range is correct and therefore this suggestion will not be accepted.
xen, what you don't understand is that 66.3/ 2.55 is exactly 26 keys. It is not at 26.5, what you have said is incorrect. Brad Pitt has said that the value is 26-27. While I feel this to be a bit low, even if it is, since the current system does not allow variances, it should round up to what happens to be its correct price. You are not in charge of prices, and can not say what will and will not be accepted.
I'm not driving people's votes away. I hope you do understand that 80% of the people vote blindly, not on their opinion, but all they care about is rep.
Some sellers ask for 30 Keys, but that will not happen anytime soon.
It's simple to get buds at 26 keys. They are not 27 keys. They are 27 keys when people post trades more than 3 times in 24 hours saying they are buying buds for 27 Keys.
263 votes for an item is a lot, and 1 person can't catch that much attention.
169-94 is a good vote, but I personally don't think that the price is a solid 27 Keys, yet.
I'm sure maybe in a week, or 2.. it will be. Just not yet.
**Just cause you have 75 votes more than negative does not mean you have 75 more Rep on your profile.**
I'd say leave this open for a few more days.
I totally understand that people vote blindly for rep. You also lose rep if your vote fails. I'm unclear on how much, but it's sizeable. It's possible to get any item for under its value. Back when Huntsman's were 14 keys I had no trouble buying them for 12. Just because you can get an item for a price does not mean that that price is the item's price. I believe that the average sell price is around 27, if not on the upper end of 26-27. I feel that if only those who were in the earbuds market had voted, the price would have been accepted. I feel that people don't like it when currency changes, and are unwilling to accept the change that has already taken place in the market.
You have to understand too, that half the items are priced in buds, and if buds of prices rise, those items "rise" too.
Max Heads, Strange Festive Weapons (That are priced in bud), and most unusuals. That's what sucks.
IMHO:
1) it takes time to buy buds at 26 keys but it's very possible. The current price of buds is between 26.5 and 27 keys, though.
2) Other items don't go up in price when buds increase in price. I'd never pay 2 buds for a max head, for example. SFW are rising so it's not the same.
3) I downvoted this suggestion because the price of buds are not 27 keys YET. And I own 3.
for 298k credits ~ 27 keys you can get one of these in 2 seconds. but apparently everyone seems to think that's a good price for selling. NOT BUYING. these are 26 keys. i still sell for 26 keys and I buy for 26 keys. Don't crash the currency....
@ KUZE
I mean the way this site calculates prices.
What I don't understand is that Buds are an easy get @ $30. They only seem to rise in keys, or shall I say, harder to get for a lower price.
TF2WH isn't the only way to trade skaskankerbr...
skaskankerbr, raising the price by a key to reflect demand and current market prices isn't crashing the currency. If you were more well versed in the other trading sites, you'd see that the going rate is generally 27.
Man this suggestion has people's heads exploding.
samhudson333: one key is 2.55. 26 and a half keys are 66.25. Do you really think someone who is buying that many keys is buying at 2.55?
I thought I was the amateur trader, and I'm surprised at what's happened here.
people on outpost have trades trying to buy for 25-26 keys and trades trying to sell for 27-28 keys? Sounds like outpost.
@ XEN (2 comments above me)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0
BTW. why did the price suddently go up?
Dignity, we sure as hell can agree on that, I'm just not even sure what he's trying to say. 66.25/ 2.55 is 25.98, I just don't even get what he's saying
I don't care what anyone here thinks but I'm sorry buds are 27 keys now... I got a couple friends selling at 27 keys daily and many per day without any trouble whatsoever. I even sold 3 buds in the past 3 weeks for 27 keys minutes after posting them up on all trade sites. When I was trying to buy some at 26 keys it was next to impossible after hours in trade servers or on trade sites... you think just because backpack.tf wont accept it's 27 keys that the market will suddenly change? NOPE! People will still sell at 27-28 keys... damn I remember when buds wer 10 keys :( miss those days.
@doc_mozilla
cause "christmas is coming"
I've sold buds with in hours of trying at 27 keys on both outpost and trade servers. Whether you like it or not they are slowly going up in price.
.
I don't think so, I rarely see people buy buds for 28 and 27
Then you obviously rarely trade buds
sold 80 buds this month at 27+ keys each, several per day from from Sept 1st onwards. Detractors are already a month behind here.
FYI for the sake of calculation, 2.55 per key creates discrepancies at larger numbers of keys, such as buds at 26/27 keys. For the sake of calculation, use 23/9 - 23 scrap is 2.5(5) refined, and there's 9 scraps per refined metal.
Anyways, everyone claiming to sell buds piss-easy at 27 keys, post some links with your comment.
As long as there's still people selling for 26 keys buds won't go up. Doesn't matter if you manage to sell them for 28, 29 or 50 keys each.
"As long as there's still people selling for 26 keys buds won't go up. "
That's not how it works. I bought a pair for 24 keys this month, a 3-seconds-old ad on outpost. Also got 2 for 50, about 10 seconds after seller listed them. Does that mean the price should be 24 keys? Or 25?
Buds are traded in volume, outliers will exist. The average price is what's important. The price is closer to 27 than 26, and it has been for a while.
Demand increased, selling for 27. 27 isn't an unfair price.
Had to find out myself so I could vote. Bought at 26 keys from tf2trade in an hour on a Saturday afternoon.
Bought at 26 keys this past Tuesday in a trade with someone without keys for 26 keys.
Sold at 26 keys in a trade on Thursday for a Gen Scarf with an unusual trader. If I had asked for 27 keys I would have been laughed at.
Down voted.
@Dignity: Most traders use 2.5 ref in multiples, and 2.55 in singles.
Most prices on this site priced in keys are at 2.5 ref.
I award you zero points.
Most prices are actually prices at 2.55 Ref. Be real, please.
xen, everything your're saying is wrong. The price of keys on this site is 2.55 ref , that's how all key values are calculated here. As dozens of people who have actually sold a bud recently have posted, everyone is buying and selling for 27. You are wrong.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/4639805
I bookmarked this trade selling for 26 keys and it sold within 2 hours. I'm going to upvote, much as I'd like to see earbuds stay where the price is :(
I've never bought or sold buds, but I'm presuming people can sell for 27 keys within 5 days?
Handslapper, I've sold 28 in the past two weeks. It's pretty solidly the price, anybody that trades them knows that. Thanks for your support.
The very few people that sell for 26 keys run out of stock in no-time. What remains for buyers is the significant majority; those selling for 27 keys. The current price is demonstrably too low, 27 keys is the new standard price which unfortunately but understandably many people don't seem to like. I'm sorry for all the downvotes you've gotten.
@handslapper more like 5 hours. I have no trouble selling 4 per day @27 with just regular bumping on outpost. I've sold 3 since my posts 10 hours ago, and I was asleep for half of that time.
Actually, some people value items at 2.5 ref on this site, but majority is 2.55 ref.
@naknak it was within 2 hours. The trade got the first post within 10 mintutes of it opening. He then got the "added" message 1-2 hours later.
I had a trade up for 1 day buying a bud for 26, and i got one, im gona leave my vote as undecided, as most are selling for 27, but you can still get them for 26.
@samhudson333: It looks like you're all out of earbuds; I have two earbuds for you for 54 keys.
@Dignity`: A short list of items priced in keys on this site:
Crate #30 (20 keys): 50 ref
Essential Accessories (6 keys): 15 ref
Festive Flame Thrower (16 keys): 40 ref
Gold Botkiller Minigun (10 keys): 25 ref
Grenade Launcher (5 keys - note that I made this price change): 12.5 ref
Gunslinger (24 keys): 60 ref
Minigun (3 keys - note that I made this price change): 7.5 ref
The Mantreads (2 keys): 5 ref
Also, Last Breath and Quadwrangler until recently were both at 4 keys, and 10 ref. Check the price history.
Anyway, I've spent enough time arguing about this crap, you guys can do whatever you'd like.
Chancellor has put up a 26-27 key range, it's less likely to rustle people's jimmies.
