We may not like it but the key price really needs to be updated.

If you sell these for 3.55, you will run out within seconds.

I offered keys at 3.66 and my friendlist got filled up within half an hour http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8630244.

Peolpe even have offers up to quickbuy them in bulk at 3.66: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8628357

On the other side, nobody is selling at 3.55. And almost everybody who sells at 3.66 is sold out, this guy sold 36 keys: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8519171.

And these guys are selling sucessfully for 3.77: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7932761

In conclusion, this is a very conservative bump but very necessary.

I would bump to 3.66 firm but as we all know, keys will always be a range. In any case, nobody is selling these as 3.55.

You're going to need a LOT more proof than that to change a major currency.

Also, you can still buy them at 3.55, just not as many.

Show me somebody selling for 3.55, I will buy all of them. Show me one trade that is still actually selling for 3.55.

Bc OP is the only place to buy keys....And people who are selling for 3.55 will never post a trade, they will post on buyer trades..

I understand but I am offering 3.66 for a key and nobody is selling them to me. How do you explain that? If 3.66 was high end, people should be jumping at my trade in excitement.

          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8634448

maybe its cos they see that the price is rising and want to hold onto them

Something called trade servers, and not outpost.

maybe a 3.55-3.77 range would be better (as said in the other suggestion)

Four proofs is not going to be anywhere near good enough for this.

Thank you, You helped me laugh for the day, oh and to sweetin the deal heres some proof,

          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8602197 another 3.55 buyer

Each of these buyers have a surplus of keys in there back pack, meening they have succefuly bought at or around this price :3

          oh and btw http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fc2Td0Zrs0I/UD9G_w7UtoI/AAAAAAAAiG4/T0G8XDho8D4/s1600/check+mate+mother+fucker.gif

What kind of logic is that? These trades have a total of ONE add.

You can't deduct successfull purchases by the fact that people have keys in their backpack. Heck I have 40 keys in my backpack and none of these were bought for metal.

Objection! You just proved that you have keys in your backpack. With that being said, you're planning on raisin key prices to benefit your own self. Nevertheless, you also provided little proof for the main Economy item. Please close this now.

@DJ Pootis: that is totally backwards logic. You have metal in your backpack, does that mean you are objecting here to profit from it? Every high profile trader is bound to have keys in his backpack (and metal). Do you honestly think somebody with $4000 backpack value cares about gaining 40 * 1 scrap by raising a price here?

how exactly is 2 offers of a total of 3 keys 'extreme success'? it's called quickselling! it happens sometimes. and there can be a hundreds of reasons why he has so many keys in his bp. he might have just sold an unusual, the price with which he is selling his keys are too high so no one is buying, he is saving up to buy max just to name a few! i'm not agreeing with this guy's suggestion, but your counter proof is hardly any good and it is hardly 'checkmate'.

                3.55-3.77 would be much better

tf2finance hasn't even hit 3.66 yet, still below. No need for the range to be completely above it.

EDIT: I want to make a counter suggestion but it won't let me because there is already a suggestion with my price range. I call bullshit, there are no suggestions with my range :(

                  Yeah, there is. :P

only 1 proof for 3.77, and that guy raised the price, b4 the price was 3.55 i bookmarked that, so your proof is invalid he sold none at 3.77

Seriously, I am an unusual trader, I don't give two shits about key values, I just updated the value because it is very inaccurate.

Only desperate, uninformed, don't care, or just plain stupid pay more than they should. Birds of a feather

                      19 keys in 50 minutes.

Please point me to where I can buy them for 3.55. Please do.

Not my job to teach you how to search or not to take advantage of others. Taking advantage of others because you can doesn't make it right. Plenty of people here have shown they can find keys for 3.55 with little to no effort. Its your choice to not see see what is in front of you.

                          A sound indicator is scrap.tf

They currently sell for 3.66 and buy for 3.55.

And they are out of keys. What does that tell you?

Supply is lower than demand, so they need to offer more per key.

You can always buy stuff cheaper than average, I mean I buy Unusuals for 10-12 keys all the time. But these are quicksells or uninformed people. Like the noobs that still sell for 2.33 that was once the key price. This is not what backpack.tf should track.

Lower end should be a price where you can easily buy it at, higher end should be a price where you can easily sell it at. Keys at 3.66 are pretty much an instant sale right now (I know I would buy them all).

                  lol nuub

Can we keep this productive please?

Guys enough with the hate, I sold 9 keys in 9 minutes for 3.77 each:

                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633695

At the same time, I bought none at 3.55:

                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633753

At the time of me looking at your buying link, it had been up for 20 some odd minutes and had five views. Just because five people glimpsed over your trade does not mean it's impossible to buy for 3.55. ADD traders these days, they don't get a trade within 15 minutes and it's "impossible"

I also searched the first 5 pages and nobody is even selling for the supposed high range of 3.66. Nobody (and yes, I actually added people and asked)

Also I created a new one with 3.66 and got no adds so far (2 hours).

                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8634448

Welp since you can't buy at 3.66, I guess the range should be 3.77-3.88, right?

                          /s

                          :l

                      http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633695

Nice Try, but don't do price suggestions for your own profit.

Seriously? Everybody in this community is trading keys and metal at some point. Look at my backpack. It is worth $4000. I don't give two shits about the value of my 30 keys. I made that trade specifically to prove my point, that selling for 3.77 is extremely easy.

Sadly backpack.tf is just a bunch of wishful thinkers that do not seem to care about actual prices.

Btw. 30 keys, making a scrap each in profit, would be like 3 refined. I think in buds of profit, not refined.

Your Backpack value has nothing to do with this price range. Whether it is 400 or 4000, nobody really cares. If you're trying to prove a point, you didn't. Most people will look for a 3.66 seller before surrendering and buying for 3.77. Usually, people can find one with enough searching. Got my downvote.

Dude I am offering 3.66 and i am NOT getting any adds for it. How do you explain that if the old range is accurate?

scrap.tf sells for 3.66 and you can probably find some sucess in bazaar.tf. I've bought a few for 3.49 myself.

You can also try trade servers, it's a bit faster but requires more effort.

But scrap.tf is constantly out of keys. As soon as it replenish, keys are immediately bought, making 3.66 a lower end.

I had to wait days before being able to buy keys at 3.66, 3.55 is impossible.

true that. but if it is so difficult to find 3.66 wouldn't that make it the lower range? if you had said people could still find 3.55 with enough searching then the current range would be justified. as it is you're contradicting yourself!

there are 100s of people buying and selling keys. Your going to need a lot more proof that this. I'll stay neutral for now tho

Show me one trade selling for 3.55 or even a recent successful buy for 3.55.

Anything to proof the old price would be fine by me.

Instead what I see is 100 people offering (unsuccesfully) to buy for 3.55.

                            http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8233554 This guy has sold quite a few at 3.88...THIS IS WHY I STAY NEUTRAL ON KEY SUGGESTIONS ;_;

                              how would you know?

                                Because of the comments...

                              http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8578310

Took me 2 days to find keys for 3.77, i'm upvoting even though you will get tons of downvotes

22 views in 2 days, are you even trying to bump your trade?

I feel like this suggestion will be closed but... I'll stay neutral for now.

If this closes and isn't accepted, I'm going to make a 3.55-3.77 suggestion.

Got the proof, but this one being open doesn't let me post it.

                                  :C

I would close it and reopen at 3.55-3.77 if that was remotely accurate. As it stands I can't even find people selling for 3.66. Not even on trade servers.

Or on the first 5 pages on outpost. Anybody offering for 3.66 is out of keys. Clearly the price has to be adjusted.

I still buy everyday for 3.55 ref

                                  http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8473520

there are still people who sell for this price.

not really a proof or something, just saying..

Thats weird, I offer 3.66 and I am buying NONE so far.

                                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8634448

                                    One hour now.

If the old range was accurate at all, people would be jumping at the opportunity to sell for high end.

Someone go create suggestion of 3.55-3.77 to let us chose the best

I AM TRYING. IT WON'T LET ME :(

I have it all typed up in Word, just need to paste it in, but since this suggestions high end is 3.77, the others low is 3.55, it won't let me suggest 3.55-3.77 because there is "already a suggestion with that range".

Only in TF2! People fight over 1 scrap to make an extra key every 37 keys they sell!

That is precicely why I referenced my backpack value above. I don't make profit using key trades, I only opened my key related trades to prove this point. The current range is way off and I believe it should be fixed.

Suddenly, most voters never seen 37 keys in their own bp at once.

Some more proof for selling at 3.77:

                                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633695 (mine: Selling 19keys in 47 Minutes @ 3.77)

                                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6997536 Sold over 100 keys at 3.77

                                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8581629 3.77, sold 17

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8404555 3.77, check comments, people bought.

                                        http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7932761 selling sucessfully for 3.77

I couldn't find any recent successful purchases at 3.55 but its kind of a moot point since so many people are offering to buy at 3.66. That is why I feel 3.55 should not be in the range. Why would anybody sell for 3.55 when he can instantly sell it for 3.66?

                                        Proof for buying high:

haha, apparently there's an idiot going around disliking each of your comments. i suggest you close this suggestion and let it be. if you don't really care about the prices of keys then just let it be. it's really not worth arguing with some of the people here. if you insist on suggesting i think 3.55-3.77 is better

I don't mind getting downvoted. The key price is in great need of an update and 3.55 as lower end is a joke since people (including me) are already offering 3.66 for quickbuys (see updated proof)

those piece of shit sellers are a bunch of fcking liars, they just update the number of keys sold without telling that they sold 96 out of 100 keys for the lesser price.

And what the fuck, it so much pisses me off that people fail to understand that those mother fcker; key flippers bought the keys themselves for 3.44-3.66, If you want proof jump to any fckin trade server, most of the people know this but fail to admit, and you will see most of them spamming in chat. OUTPOST PROOF IS PARTIAL PROOF. STOP FUCKING INCREASING PRICES JUST ON THAT BASIS.

I rarely buy keys in metal, so prices dont worry me at all, but that adversely effects the economy.

true. check my trade and first comment.

                                                  http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8425146

This should be enough to prove you wrong:

                                                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8633695

I specifically forced people to reply so you now have a trail of people you can ask how much they bought keys for from me.

If I were to lie about that, I would be (rightfully) banned from backpack.tf for manipulating prices. I could also prove it using my inventory history.

I agree that "sold 100" should not be taken at face value but enough of these trades have enough to demonstrate that 3.66-3.77 is the going price.

I don't think Outpost should be considered anymore.. People can say they sold at *Insert Price range here*, but that doesn't mean they actually did sell any... That's just my two cents though.

i agree. but i noticed a pattern. everytime backpack.tf chages its key price sellers will sell for 1 scrap more. like when keys were 3.55-3.66 and everyone on backpack.tf were selling for 3.77. mark my words as soon as keys become 3.77 on backpack.tf people will start selling for 3.88

I really have no idea why the HELL you guys think having keys at 3.55-3.66 is a good idea, but in my opinion going back to 2.33-2.66 is an amazing idea. Also, if someone could explain why the keys are going up so quickly, that'd be nice.

Long story short, people which dont give a shit about how economics works trying to rule it, e.g. Zimbabwe.

Keys are NOT going up. Understand that.

                                                        REFINED is dropping, NOT keys.

And also, scarcity. Most people used to buy from the tf2 shop. Now that it's easier to buy from other users, most people buy on steam market and key reserves are getting scarcer. thus increasing the price.

The price of keys started going up when the market started to allow you to sell keys, could there possibly be a connection? I say yes we should stop trying to sell keys off the market and go back to the traditional ways and maybe the price of keys will go down.

That's not right. Keys went up for Halloween and just stayed up and kept rising. People can claim metal is going down and/or the market, and that is all nice and what not. But really, those things just "happened around the same time" and didn't cause anything.

Demand for keys never goes down. And because there is no one regulating (setting a ceiling on) the price, sellers can collectively raise the price. The only thing that is going to stop them is when people get fed up or too poor to purchase keys at high prices.

I COMPLETELY disagree, its VERY easy to buy keys at 3.66. And people selling at 3.77 are just greedy bastards pushing their luck. we need to put our foot down at 3.66 - this is where it ends. People are not buying keys anymore because of the greedy bastards who keep pushing them up - unless we put our foot down, keys will go beyond 5 ref.

if anyone needs keys im selling them for 2 keys each...

seariously thoough... people are always gonna be asking more for keys then w.e you have here, stop changing this price.

besides, i still havent payed over 3ref for a key...

                                                                  Updated proof:

Keys need an update, let's face it.

They have always been a 1 scrap range so I cleaned up the proof for this updated range of 3.66-3.77.

Many people are not quickbuying for 3.66 refined, so anybody selling for 3.55 or less should not be considered (otherwise we'd have to put the lower range at 3 ref since some people naively sell for that). Incidentally I found nobody selling for 3.55, even my offer of 3.66 didn't attract any attention in 2 hours.

When so many high profile traders are buying for 3.66, you know anybody selling for 3.55 is a fool. We need to stop misinforming people.

Disclaimer: yes I have keys in my backpack, like any somewhat serious trader. However you will also notice that I have like $4000 backpack value. I do not care if I can sell a few keys for a scrap more. But I care about finding misleading values on backpack.tf. Even when selling for 3.66 my friendlist got flooded in minutes. At 3.77 I sold 19 keys in 47 minutes. That is why I made this suggestion.

"you know anybody selling for 3.55 is a fool"

How about, "you know anybody buying for 3.77 is a fool"?

Buying at 3.66 is surprisingly hard, I know I tried for a while (2 hours, 4 bumps) and got no takers. Do you think the people who buy it for 3.66 will sell it for 3.66?

Keys have always had a scrap range. What would be your counter-suggestion Senio? Anything with 3.55 on the minimum would be wrong as I demonstrated, so that would only leave a firm price of 3.66, which would not demonstrate that sellers usually want a 1 scrap profit.

Downvote. Not pretty much proof + Look how many keys he got.
