The one problem i have with the proof is that, I can do this for nearly ANY items. Everyone want's to get the max amount possible. If you search for an item, you'll find ~95% of sellers at the max range most of the time. And your prove doesn't prove that 3 ref isn't possible. If anything, it shows that the range should be 3-3.33. Why should you buy for 3.66 when so many are available at 3.33?

Hey, I've actually had some experience trading these recently (and I'm your last link listed!) so I'll weigh in.

For full disclosure, I buy these at 3 ref and sell at 3.66 (current range) and it seems to work pretty well. I've bought around 5 at 3 ref with trade http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9848941, but of course I'm reselling them, so maybe not the best proof of keeping 3 ref in. Although I've been unsuccessful for 16 hours in my trade, my last sale of a #1 happened instantly after I listed it @ 3.66 (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9881264), so I'm fairly confident of 3.66 being in the range. In my opinion, it's difficult to find 3 ref sellers, but it's simple enough to buy at 3 ref. I'll remain neutral on this.

Bought one for 3 refined recently. It's all the same trade, I just added the second part to prove that it was indeed 3 refined, not something covered by the description.

well based off proof it seems 3.33 actually sells pretty fast...

Yet there are still 3 refined sales here and there and one on classifieds.
