"A high unlike any you've ever had before."
Counter-suggesting Demon Forge, original prices were used, I promise.
Proof (kind of) provided by [FoM]DemonForge, and blindpolarbear.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14610581 - Scorching Tricorne + P Fetti Drill Hat + 1 bud (6 buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15209795 - Scorching Chieftan's + 10 keys + 3 keys & 3.66 ref in sweets (6.3 buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14807720 - C9 Impaler (10 buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15173608 - Cloudy Moon Glove (4.1 buds) (Upon checking his other trades, I can see that at least 1 key was also given to the owner of the Reggaelator. Whether or not this means anything, I don't know, so I'm just leaving it where it's at.)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14788825 - Sold for a sniper set including Dead Presidents Anger (5.7 buds) + P. Fetti Panama (0.8 buds) + SF Sniper (good parts, 1.6 buds) + #22 Falconer (9 Keys) + #22 Birdman (8 Keys) + S Veil (4 keys) + other stuff (4 keys). Total: (9.4 buds)
[See below for trade containing set details]
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15067763 - Miami Nights Casemaker when he added his N&B Big Country (9.5 Buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14655889 - Sold for Time Warp Luchador (~8.8, based on an offer that the Time Warp owner was going to accept of Cauldron Wrap if he added a bud)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14897802 - Sold for Terror Watt Cannonball (Sold for a Terror Watt El Jefe) (9.5 buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14957804 - Sold for Roboactive Bolted Bicorne when he added some keys (I don't know how many. This one is too hard to get proof off of, but it's probably somewhere in the 9-10 range, if not slightly higher)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14796620 - Sniper set pertaining to 9.4 bud trade.
(4.1), (6), (6.3), (8.8), (9.4), (9.5), (9.5), (10)
Therefore, hat should be 8.8-10. The 6's and the 4 are outliers, and probably were more uninformed as far as selling goes.
Seems nice :D
But when I count all the numbers up and split them through 8, the average is ~7.5 buds
Mathematical Mean = 7.95 or about 8. The 4.1 is an obvious outlier, (as are the 6's), but just taking out the 4, the average becomes 8.5. As I said in the trade, the 6's are outliers, and averages don't matter at all when suggesting a price because there is a range based on proof. Averages only matter when trying to find the EXACT mid-range of a hat so that you can calculate overpay.
I agree with that
Well you got an upvote from me :)
Not convinced that we should go only by the highest sales here as I indicated in prior suggestions. This hat is a really tricky one to price since sales are all over the place.
Any offers on current trades >8 to show that 6.5 is an outlier?
EDIT: Oh I just saw that the TW lucha, RA bicorne, and TW cannonball are still unpriced. So only your impaler sale (which is really 9.5 after overpay) and sniper set sale are really valid proofs.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15106179 - For a Kill-a-Watt Brown Bomber if he adds 3.3ish, (13 buds)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15186711 - Darkblaze Strontium Stovepipe + sweets
Also, why is the C9 Impaler 9.5? I took the original price and took the low end. Can't you do that or take the mid-range * 0.9?
And I did my research on those hats. I put down what they themselves sold for in other trades.
When the range is narrow (KAW bomber) you should always do mid * 0.9. 16.3 is not sufficient overpay calculation for a range of 16.3-16.6 and defeats the purpose of unusual overpay. On a 10-11, fine 10 might be okay, but honestly k bee is offering that impaler around quite a lot. I think 10 is generous.
Anyways, this hat was just a nightmare to decide on. I think I've stared at this one for too long. My impression was that the mid-range of sales was most representative, but honestly maybe it should remain unpriced - just my impression.
I'd like another mod to take a good look at it.
Okey dokey.I learn more every day about price suggestions xD
I agree with polar bear, the impaler would only be 9.5 after overpay is considered, so the high range is a bit too high. Also, unpriced unusuals shouldn't be used unless they fit in with the suggested range.
Basically, you have the sniper set at 9.4, the impaler at 9.5, and the casemaker at 9.5.
Then the tricorne + drill hat at 6 and the chieftans + sweets at 6.3.
Kind of a large jump between the two...
I don't know if suggesting 9.4-9.5 is a good idea, but I can say that your current suggestion is a bit off.
