Although this may look like a large leap in price, I just spent hours trying to find someone who was willing to sell for somewhere around the 2 bud area, and wasnt able to, being forced up to 2.5 buds. The price of 1.8-2.3 buds is way outdated, as there are hardly any people selling this hat below 2.5 buds.
Proof:
SOLD:
http://imgur.com/r51TTSM I bought for 2 bud 6 keys (2.4 bud)
Offers:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17972043 2.5 buds
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17953946 2.5 bud B/O
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17670444 3.1 bud B/O, 46 key (2.4 bud) C/O
I know it isnt the most proof ever found on something, but People are paying about 2.4 to 2.5 buds for the hat, and I couldn't find a single offer 2.3 buds or below. The current price is outdated, and for a pretty cool looking hat, it deserves an update.
edit: added bud values to make it easier to compare
Actually the price of this is 2.4-3, so yeah you won't find a 2 bud seller at all.
Apparently 4 people don't realize about original values
The current price is 1.8-2.3...
He's talking about the original suggested price.
http://backpack.tf/stats/Unusual/El%20Jefe/Tradable/Craftable/29 Follow the blue dot, that's known as the original value rule and must be taken into consideration when dealing with unusuals, the right most dot says 2.4-3, no?
Sounds like a Sudoku Rule :)
Staying Neutral for now
I am new to unusual pricing, and have not heard of this principle. Could you explain the logic and reasoning behind using that price instead of the marked "current" price?
Because as buds change prices, which they do in certain events such as halloween when everyone is unboxing and buds reach all time low, the price is inaccurately shown. Thus when a new halloween unbox is sold for about 7 buds when buds were 16 keys each, as soon as buds reach 20 keys each, the price deflates ALOT and improperly reflects the actual value of the hat.
Example, 32 keys could be considered 2 buds during halloween all time low.
Buds rise back to 20 each, the actual price would drop from 2 to 1.6 on the website.
Thanks for the explanation, I was not aware of this when putting out the suggestion. I thought the "current" price had that factored in.
Adding on to this the old system where currency would change along with the suggestion has now been changed as it was clear that keeping it tied to buds instead of usd was alot more consistent. New suggestions now are tied to buds sadly older ones are still tied to usd until updated.
If you looked at my previous suggestion you would see that it's a lot higher than this just the currency changes screwed it up (y)
