Open 2 and a half weeks and the op still doesn't want to resuggest.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/22808253 Sold for a clean H.O.U.W.A.R

Gotta say, roboactive does look really cool on this hat

also, inb4 valve releases a patch that fixes how the effect is rendered

    wow

EDIT: apparently the hat was glitched? and it had an upside down effect. Maybe that had something to do with it?

It's the upside down effect thingy

You'd think that it became a misc.

Just about all of these are.. my friend had a stupid effected roboactive stout shako and sold it for a overclocked exe

That's not half as ridiculous as this sale.

He calls it the purple dragon. The forced theming is reel

my shako wasnt stupid it was godly :D

http://backpack.tf/item/215179450 Clean HOUWAR? This is the history of it taken from Bluebird's backpack history. http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198010528526?time=1409468400

When I checked the houwar's history, I got this: http://backpack.tf/item/3041202764

that's another one, he apparently swapped for it, original houwar involved in the trade for the ra snaggle is duped

Are you saying that they immediately swapped the duped one for the clean one or did he buy it off of him?

no, he later traded the duped houwar for a clean one (with another person), at least that's what I've obvserved, unsure if truth.

edit: forget about it, the houwar involved in ra snaggle trade is duped and wrapped in his inventory means overpay SHOULD be applied, also where did you get this link from? http://backpack.tf/item/3041202764

Or backpack.tf is not loading the proper history of the item due to something involving the gift wrap or such, who knows. Either way the correct history is duped last checked, couldnt be THAT clean. Obviously an error.

I checked the history on tf2outpost and it indicates that he did get that one for the snaggle.

Wrapped houwars don't show their complete histories. This one is definitely a duped one.

When wrapped it's a completely different item. When unwrapped it gets the old history back again.

            Are you sure it wasn't a shark/scam

No, but a sale is a sale and if nobody can prove that the user was sharked, then there's no reason not to document the sale. Especially with no other sales occurring recently and the current owner having no interest in reselling his.

There needs some evidence of sharking or not, otherwise its an outlier to me

I don't think you know what an outlier is.

This sale is an outlier compared to other effects of this hat, and the relative value of this effect to other effects, since there's no apparent theme. It is also an outlier when the decreasing trend in robo-effects is considered. An outlier can be defined in many ways, not just regarding additional sales. To me, this sale is also an outlier just based on these.

However, since there's only 2 of them in existence according to bp.tf , and assuming no other sales occurred between then and now, this suggestion would still be valid.

But, as the owner of the trade explained, "(Extremely Rare Upside-Down Roboactive Effect Glitch) ", which explains why it was sold for so much.

It is indeed an outlier in the sense that it's a glitched item. Downvote.

                      Very good point^

If I understand correctly, all the roboactive snaggle's have the upside down effect, its not a glitch specific to that hat. It sold for a duped HOUWAR (which is 9, idk why he suggested it at 10), and that was the only sale in the past three months. You cant just decide a sale is an "outlier" because you don't think it should be worth that much (or, in your own words, because of the decreasing trend in robo-effects or the relative value to other effects)
