If people used to care about earbuds being duped, they definitely don't now. The answer being: no

wouldn't they care more now that the demand is lower? just used as currency so nobody really checked them they just passed them. now people are using them to wear they're more likely to want something clean and clean ones are easy to get considering how many buds are on the market so nobody is really stuck having to buy duped ones. In any case though dupe doesn't matter.

Earbuds aren't a official currency anymore, you don't need loads of links in order to drop them, this is more than enough.

If you say so. In my opinion currency or not that does not define a common trading point; which is what backpack.tf is all about.

That doesn't stop mods accepting suggestions which I proved were flawed.

But let me be also clear on this that price range, however unnecessary, is still correct. It is just a poor presentation. The mods should not be sceptical about search links then if a mod is going to do his own research. At least it facilitates the research.

In case you did not realise, I was not trying to poke fun at you or anyone else, just proving a point that earbud suggestions (closed and/or accepted) have not been the highest standard, this included. You must have seen what you write but that is irrelevant here. A term currency or not means nothing. Backpack.tf just wanted to value the unusual in keys since the price of the buds fell. However, it is still being traded in abundance everyday. The litter above does not define a common trading point.

You would still need a lot more sellers at 3.8 for a drop, earbuds are pretty common.

The fact they are no longer a currency makes much less people trade them and hence the market size is severally smaller than what it used to be.

Currency or not it is still traded in huge volumes and the amount of proof is terribly low for a such an item.

A considerable amount of sellers on outpost in your proof are at 4 keys. I'll upvote even though it would have been better to include the backpack.tf classifieds in your proof being as people are selling for even less than your suggestion there.

They were a currency because the trading system was different back in the early days. The trading window consisted of only 8 slots on each side, so people had to come up with higher denominations of currency in order to pay for more valuable items. Buds happened to be the denomination that came after bills and were thus pretty valuable. However, with the launch of Steam Trading (the system we use today), buds began slowly losing value since they no longer held their main purpose. Of course you will still have people using them for trading and as a cosmetic since they're still an item after all, but you won't be seeing buds as a valuable item nowadays.

Unless Valve decides to do something, then Volvo plz.

Had my trade up for 4 keys per bud and didn't get a bite at all for a few days. Eventually just sold all of them on the Marketplace for $8.50 each. My price, not what the traders paid.

I guess it all startet becasue Keys were rising, Buyers wanted to pay less for Buds, Buds went down a lil' bit -> Panic massive Price Drops to get them away fast -> Price lowered -> went a little bit up but everybody wanted to get rid of them and now here we go. 4 Keys.. But I thinkg they are a nice misc though.
