Duped Vivid Modest

This always happens to me where my quick-sell buyouts on outpost is used to price a hat. If u look at my outpost, everything is 20% off. Its not gonna make any difference for this price suggestion and I wouldnt care if the modest is valued at 10 keys or 200 keys, but I see my quickesll buyouts used in many price suggestions on this website and I think it leads to inaccurate suggestions.
Aren't quicksales meant to actually... sell?
They do sell, that modest i had only lasted 2 days before it was gone. Most of these hats I got listed as quicksells on op sell in about 5 days.
5 days is a long time lol.
No it isn't, thats a quick time to be able to trade a 100+ key hat
Pretty opinion based, but it should still be a valid price regardless
nah, this was a mega quicksell, he was trying to cash out and only had it listed for 1 week with multiple people collecting on it before I was able to get it
I have to agree with soaring for once. For a high tier hat, to not QS, a quicksell would have to be under a week, and 5 days is. If it was 7 days or more you could say it's not
Doesn't make much of a difference at all rofl
It really does.
A few keys difference from the modest shouldn't matter...
Its not the modest, its the fact that this keeps happening. Lots and lots of price suggestions I've seen use my quicksells to lower hats, and I've just finished updating all my outpost adds to say "pure is negotiable" instead of naming a price because I feel that this is a major weakness of bp.tf's pricing system.
There isn't really too much suggestors can do about that, sorry :/
Yes there is, they can stop using my quick-sell buyouts to lower hats
Your opinion shouldn't change what has been 100% fine in the past, sorry
Just a heads up about the buyouts:
Backpack.tf aims to value items in pure. Naturally, this is really difficult to do since most sales that occur are for other unusuals. That is why we cap sales at their pure buyouts. If a buyout is too low (i.e if it would end up qualifying as a quicksale), it would sell in no time. In many cases, even at your decreased buyouts, it still takes a couple of weeks up to a month to sell, in which case buyout caps are most definitely relevant.
In this particular case, the vivid modest mini is going to be low. That has been up for such a short amount of time that it should not be taken into consideration. Seeing how this is rounded down, where with a proper mini on the modest this may have been rounded up, the induced difference that'd normally be "too small to consider" has a weighing of 50 keys here (as this is 50 keys lower than it would have been if the modest got a mini that'd put it ~8 keys higher, which is likely possible.)
@suggester, it resold for a ton of unpriced hats.

If those can get minis, then this can get a range
I think 2 or 3 of the hats i got which are unpriced have never sold before or have never sold within the last 3 weeks, so there is no hope to mini those at all, ill let u guys know when i sell them tho and a new suggestion can be made

Got offered $2900 cash or burning crones dome if i add $500 cash, he is currently banned on outpost for being a scammer alt, so he told me hes appealing it and it should be resolved by the weekend, (I can't trade with him until that gets resolved) although either way I think that shows that this 1 sale is not representative of the value of this hat
just sold mine for H E L L A more then 1300, everything is unpriced hats but u can just glance at the sale and tell its gonna be valued way higher then 1300 just by looking at what similar tier effects are selling for
I sold the dome at a discount because i want out of tf2 trading.
I came to own the dome due to an irl friend needing money, money i didnt really have so needed to shift it ASAP.
I got offers of 1600 in unusuals all the time.
I would not support this pricing of the dome; It was a quick sale.
The user above Super Kawaii offered me his sunbeams cotton + Burning Flames Mountebank's Masque - using his prices thats 1600.
Cotton is definitely overpriced atm and was duped. This same cotton head has added for a purple energy crones dome in the past so I really doubt that it's anywhere near 1600
If you had offers of 1600 in unusuals all the time i wonder why you sold it to soaring eagle for way below the price. Since its so easy to sell at 1600 you couldve just quicksold it at 1600 lol. I call bullshit
I took the offer because of the pure + i already had a friend who would buy the thirst blood from me via the SCM. I needed money, simple. I've been trading for a long time.. I don't bullshit.
If i really wanted to ruin the suggestion I could say i paid less than 800 keys for it in the first place
That's the thing about pricing items in pure, though. We are pricing this at 1300 keys because we are valuing it at that in pure. No one is disputing that it can get 1600+ in unusual offers, but we are saying that if a buyer offered 1300 in pure, you and Soaring Eagle would take it. It's not unlike pricing golden pans at 1100 keys. They sell for 1500+ in unusuals all the time, but they are priced in their value in pure. That's the only fair way to make comparisons across all hats.
As an owner of a Sunbeams Crones i can say that i got plenty of offers worth around 1600 keys and even a few rounding the 1700 keys. I'm not too much into the pricing community of backpack.tf, although i dont find it logical to price a hat with only one sale, espicially when the owner of the hat himself clearly mention it was a quicksale.
When the hat take a month+ to sell, it isn't really a quicksale. Regardless, your "offers" don't have much relevance here, sry :/
I respect your opinion. although, i still dont agree that this sale should be used. Its an obvious outlier.
How do his offers have no relevance here? The fact that all of the sunbeams crones owners are frequently declining offers in the 1600 range shows that this is an unnecessary price change. Literally the first day I got this hat I got offered a clean scorching flames hazmat 850 bp price, + a circling peace sign beduin which recently sold for a duped secret tc worth probably 600, plus a burning flames stormin normin which I owned and sold for 100. Thats an instant offer of 1550 which I declined. This suggestion just seems silly when clearly many people are willing to pay even more then the current bp.tf price for it.
also apparently fat rat sold his for 1600 in noh mercies
